The La Roca FC Junior Academy is built for children beginning their soccer journey, or looking to build
confidence and skill before entering a competitive environment. We use both soccer and futsal to create
different learning experiences, helping every child build a positive relationship with the ball, their
teammates, and the game.

Program Details

La Roca FC Junior Academy
The La Roca FC Junior Academy is our introduction to soccer and futsal for boys and girls ages 4 to 11 in
Saint George, Utah. The purpose of the program is not to build competitive athletes at a young age — it is
to spark a genuine love for the game while developing coordination, confidence, friendships, and physical
and mental wellbeing through play.
The Junior Academy runs in 8-week courses. Each course has its own developmental theme, closes with a
La Roca FC Game Festival, and awards every player a certificate and badge for the stage they completed.

Ages 4-11

Boys and girls ages 4 to 11 are introduced to soccer through a playful, inclusive approach that builds
enjoyment of the sport, motor development, socialization, and physical and mental wellbeing. Players are
grouped as Group A (4–7) and Group B (8–11), with session content matched to each group’s stage of
development.

Why Soccer + Futsal

Soccer happens in different environments, and each one presents different challenges and builds
complementary abilities. The goal is not choosing between futsal and soccer — it is using both to develop a
more complete player. Sessions alternate weekly between a soccer week on the field and a futsal week on
the court, so families always know which environment their child is training in.

Core Methodol-ogy

Children learn the game by playing the game. Rather than standing in lines waiting for a turn, players spend
nearly the whole hour in small-sided games and guided challenges designed so the right solution appears
naturally. Coaches shape the game, then let the game teach. Every session follows the same club
methodology, so a child gets the same standard of coaching regardless of which group or coach they are
with.

outside private trainer
