LA ROCA PARK EMERGES IN SOUTH WEBER

New 25-acre Facility to Serve as La Roca’s Center of Athletic Excellence
Ogden, Utah (October 30, 2017) — La Roca FC, Utah’s most trophied youth soccer club, today is unveiling its new 25-acre Center of Athletic Excellence—La Roca Park. The opening of La Roca Park marks an historic milestone in the history of youth soccer in Utah, as La Roca becomes the first club to open a 66,000-square-foot, world-class indoor training facility.
La Roca Park houses a 60 x 100 yard turf soccer field, which is spacious enough to accommodate eight teams practicing simultaneously. Adjacent to the building, two full-sized natural grass outdoor soccer fields are planned with expansion space for more grass fields in the future. The business offices of La Roca FC will be located inside the new facility with paved parking for 75 vehicles and a gravel overflow parking area.
Adolfo Ovalle, La Roca’s founder and Technical Director is thrilled about the new facility. He said, “La Roca Park is a new chapter in the history of our club. It’s the beginning of a new era, and our dream come true. Since the founding of our club in 2005, we have been dreaming about having a home to call our own. It is finally here. Welcome to La Roca Park, where ‘We are Family.’ Vamos La Roca!”
The primary purpose of La Roca Park is to provide La Roca teams with an indoor training facility during the winter months when they otherwise have to secure space from a very limited pool of indoor facilities. Additionally, La Roca teams will be able to schedule practice games on the full-sized field to prepare for tournaments and league play.
Though this elite training center will primarily be home to La Roca teams from November to March, it will be available during other months for events sponsored by community partners. Upcoming La Roca sponsored events at La Roca Park include 11 v 11 Winter Leagues, a Boys Winter College Showcase Tournament, and a skills camp.
A Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony will be held Monday, October 30, at 3:30 p.m., with an open house and tours to follow. The public is invited to La Roca Park Carnival from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, where they can test their skills on several family-friendly soccer games and activities for all ages.
